About Our Executive Director, Jerry Landers
Jerry Landers, after completing a four-year tour in the Army, initially pursued a career in law enforcement. However, his involvement in community health, particularly in aiding individuals with mental illnesses, led him to a fulfilling career in this field. Over the years, he advanced through various roles and organizational mergers, and he currently serves as the Executive Director for Turning Point System of Care..
His journey began as a counselor at a residential facility, quickly advancing to management roles overseeing both clients and employees at the Center for Mental Health. His career then shifted towards business development, where he excelled in securing new funding sources, building community partnerships, writing grants, designing programs, and conducting market research. This trajectory saw him rise to the position of Vice President and CFO in 2007.
Following the merger of the Center for Mental Health and BehaviorCorp Community Mental Health Center to form Aspire Indiana in 2009, Landers became Aspire’s Vice President and Chief Development Officer. In this role, he played a crucial part in establishing Aspire Indiana Health, the organization’s primary care division. By 2015, he had become the CEO of this primary health care division, and in 2019, after a successful merger, he was promoted to Vice President of Strategy and Business Development. After 27 years at Aspire, Landers retired, only to take on the role of Interim CEO at Wood County Health Center but was recruited by Turning Point to bring him back to Indiana.
Throughout his career, Landers has served on various boards and work teams. His professional memberships include the National Association of Case Management, the National Association for Housing, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and the National Sheriffs Association.
In recognition of his contributions, Landers was awarded a Geiger-Gibson Capstone Fellowship in Community Health Policy and Leadership in 2016 and the Indiana Primary Healthcare Association (IPHCA) Employee of the Year Award in 2022.
