Connection Circle
This program focuses on peer relationships and builds connections between youth attendees. It is a strengths-based group that allows a safe space for discussion of situation and challenges a child may face. The goals of this group are trust, perspective, communication, boundaries and life skills.
Youth WRAP Class
This class is offered in a support group format that focuses on mental health and substance use. In this class, our conversation will address triggers, coping skills, and support that is available for the youth in our community. It is taught by a Peer Recovery Coach with lived experience.
Peer Coaching: REACH offers this program in a 1-1 format (by appointment) in which a Youth Peer Recovery Coach meets a child where they are, without expectation, and offers a safe space to unpack difficult issues. The coach will help set personalized goals, manage emotions, strengthen personal relationships, and provide trauma-informed care. Each Peer Recovery Coach offers lived experience and seeks to serve as accountability partners, support systems, and gap fillers for kids that may seem hard to reach or with which to connect. Peer coaches are not therapists, DCS, Probation officers, tutors, or disciplinarians.
Discovery Café: REACH’s Discovery Café program offers a safe and affirming environment for youth members ages 12-17 to discover talents, develop healthy friendships, be their authentic selves, and grow. Through community time, meals, social outings, mentoring support, and skill-building programs, the Discovery Café staff is able to connect with youth in the community as they navigate life. A day in the Café looks like this:
School for Discovery | 3:30 – 4:30pm | Youth will have the opportunity to partake in a variety of classes, activities, and programs.
Community Time | 4:30 – 5:00pm | Share a meal together while connecting and engaging. This is also when we will learn about upcoming events.
Circle | 5:00 – 6:00pm | Members participate in a weekly Circle where we share what’s on our mind, offer support, and connect in a non-judgmental space.
